Olivia Rose, a London based photographer and director, has been documenting various elements of the UK’s music scene through her distinctive, intimate images and has directed music videos for up and coming British acts like Jorja Smith, as well as international stars including Future and 6lack.
She also collaborated with writer Hattie Collins in 2016 to put together This Is Grime; a book exploring the rise of one of the UK’s most popular new genres and its pioneering artists. In 2018, she shot the likes of Maisie Williams, John Boyega, Ashton Durrand Sanders, Stormzy and Kiersey Clemons, and directed Skepta’s video for his track Pure Water. Rose, who exclusively shoots in analogue, also took photos of Virgil Abloh, Hailee Baldwin and Jourdan Dunn while they were in Dalston, east London, to feature in the April edition of British Vogue. Kicking off 2019, she directed Swindle and Kojey Radical’s theatrical Coming Home video, which she told CLASH magazine felt ‘different to the generic UK music promos that get pushed out time and time again’.
